About Us
Christy Stevenson, FiTOUR ProTrainer and author of Get on the Ball—A Swiss Ball Workout, has been teaching group fitness classes for several years, earning her AFAA certification in 1999 and her Fitour certification in 2000. While living in the Chicago area, she went on to earn a certification from Reebok Coreboard. She also taught Hi/Lo aerobics, Step, Kickboxing, Body Sculpting, and Yogalates, as well as a variety of specialty classes such as Go-Go Robics for 3-5 year-olds, Teen Sports Conditioning, Strollercize, and Senior Strength and Stretch. She loves working with a variety of age groups.
After moving to Pleasant Grove, UT in 2003, she earned her Yoga certification through FiTOUR and a specialty indoor cycling certification through Body Training Systems, adding cycling, yoga and Pilates to her teaching repertoire. Christy enjoys the variety and believes strongly in the efficacy of cross-training. She has been invited by schools, youth groups, and women’s groups to conduct yoga and Pilates workshops.
In response to multiple requests, Christy compiled the most effective Swiss ball exercises into one easy-to-follow workout manual. As a group fitness instructor and FiTOUR ProTrainer, she relies heavily on the Swiss ball– also called a stability ball, therapy ball, or exercise ball—to help clients and participants reach their desired fitness goals. This Swiss ball workout is tried and true! Christy has been using these Swiss ball exercises in her own classes for years, and her participants love them because they see and feel results. They love the challenge of this Swiss ball workout, as well as how much stronger, sleeker, and more flexible they feel afterward.
While fitness has played a major part in Christy’s life, she actually graduated from Brigham Young University in 1998 with an English Teaching major and Theatre Arts minor. She taught Jr. High English and Creative Writing for three years before becoming a full-time mom and part-time fitness instructor. She also dabbles in freelance writing and has been published by iparenting media, as well as LDS Living Magazine, and has published an article on exercise during pregnancy. She has much practice with that, having taught fitness classes all nine months of each of her three pregnancies.
Christy is the mother of Connor, Kathryn, and Kelly, and wife of Ryan, and in her rare spare time, enjoys scrapbooking, reading, and singing karaoke with her family.
